Rosa Parks died yesterday. The unknowing instigator of the Montgomery bus boycott, she was for many a true hero of the Civil Rights Movement. She will long be remembered for her courageous act.

Also, today is the 3rd anniversary of my having been engaged to the most wonderful woman in the world. Three years ago today, on a brisk fall afternoon at The Point at Hanover College Aside: the only place you can see the “S” curve on the Ohio., I knelt down and endured a few tense moments as C pondered whether I was really worth all the trouble. Plus, the infamous proposal line…”I don’t want to ruin your day, but will you marry me.” And the rest as they say…

  • Somehow, bottled water just tastes better than tap water.
  • People will eat chocolate even if they’re full.
  • $7.25 is way too much to pay for one pint of beer, even if it’s Guinness.
  • The smell of onion is all pervasive.
  • I’m running an 11-minute mile, which is still slower than most.

Not much else to report. See you in the funny papers!
